It looks like 2010 was a good year for the solar power industry. There was a large increase in solar power installations which was resolved of a combination of a reduction in system costs and continued government support.

The Solar Energy Industries Association (SEIA) said approximately 530 to 855 megawatts (MW) of photovoltaic (PV) systems will be installed in 2010.  At minimum, this represents a 22 percent growth over 2009 when 435 MW of solar power was installed. Final figures won't be out until early 2011, but there is certainly rapid growth in this market place.
