San Francisco is considered the second greenest city in America according to the Mother Nature Network.   The new store has opened to cater to green conscious consumers in the area called Ecohaus.  Its mission is to provide the best eco-friendly building materials to its clientele. The company has been in business for almost 20 years supplying what it calls "eco-chic" products.  These include dual flush toilets, one-of-a-kind countertops, Forest Stewardship Council (FSC) certified wood flooring, and zero-VOC paints (volatile organic compounds)

Ecohaus implements many sustainable operating practices; including using FSC 100% recycled paper, operating their delivery truck on biodiesel fuel, and purchasing Carbon Credits in the Pacific NW.
